Hi DOD Can t believe you re 50 years old already it looks like you were born yesterday Just kidding Let me share my first memory of you I think i was about 3 5 years old but you will be able to correct me in a minute I remember all the family standing at grandmother s door in Holon we all said goodbye to you before you left abroad don t remember if it was the first or second time if you were visiting or first leaving It was a long time ago and my memory could be a bit misleading from that period in my life but I vividly remember thinking that if I ll close the door and stand in front of it you will not go As you well know it didn t quite worked Ever since you got to be my cool uncle abroad who sent me dollars the sum of my age every year and bought us awesome present when you came to visit Just so you ll know this money was well preserved and was later well spent on something back in the US when we visited in 1990 something don t remember the exact year Lately you had the opportunity to help me in my darkest hour and you did so with love and care that touched me and Anat deeply I asked you to make a diamond earrings for Anat to simulate her new beginning with a smile I could feel your eagerness to help me fulfill my wish Every phone call you finished with sorrow that you can t send your love to Anat because it was a surprise Coincidentally you sent me the picture of the earrings while Anat was at surgery I could not have imagined it going better while her surgeons were working on her you worked on her diamonds that s a moment to be remembered for life So thank you DOD for who you are Thank you April for making this lovely present and giving us the opportunity to share our thoughts Hope we ll get the chance to visit in the summer until then HAPPY BIRTHDAY Yaniv 23
